Beach Lifeguard Training Courses

Griffin Marine Services is committed to water safety by being an Affiliated Member of the Royal Life Saving Society UK. We run courses in the last two weeks of April, the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks of September. Courses start 0900 on Mondays through to Friday. Courses book up early so to confirm your place please send a 10% deposit. We can cater for a maximum of 24 and offer discounts for groups of 4 or more.

A minimum of four candidates are required for each course. All manuals are included in the course fees.

Griffin Marine Services can supply safety cover for many events ie Long Distance Swimming in open water, we have provided cover for round the Isle of Wight relay record numerous cross Solent Swims also GMTV in preparation for a cross channel swim and many more similar events.

If you require specialist modular training for your organisation please get in touch to discuss your needs if you require us to come to you for setting up a Beach Lifeguard Unit in a Resort or Modular training the daily rate is £200 per day plus expenses .

Beach Lifeguard Training Courses

RLSS UK National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (5 days)

£265 per person

Includes training manual £25.00 and exam fee £17.00. Designed to establish competence for Beach Lifeguards responsible for the safety of those using an open water location for recreational purposes. A 400 metre swim in under 7'30'' is required and fitness is essential to participate in this course. The syllabus covers the criteria as laid down in the joint RoSPA RLSS UK publications Safety on British Beaches and Safety at Inland Water Sites.

Beach Lifeguard Training Courses

First Responder (1 day)

£45 per person

Training in Extended Life Support Techniques using an AED (Automated Emergency Defibrillator). Training can be provided in the work place or at our school facilities.

Beach Lifeguard Training Courses

HSE FAW Course (One day a week for four weeks or four days)

£200 per person

A four day course covering First Aid in the work place covering:

  • Resuscitation and CPR
  • Treatment and control of bleeding
  • Treatment of shock
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Recognition of illness
  • Treatment of minor injuries
  • Burns scalds and poisons
  • Record keeping
  • Personal hygiene when giving First Aid reference to Hepatitis B and Human Immuno Deficiency Virus
  • Communication and delegation in an emergency
